Iserv is looking for a Director of Finance/Controller join our Finance team!

The Director of Finance/Controller will be working at our headquarters office in Grand Rapids, MI. This role reports directly to the CFO and executive team and is responsible for overseeing all accounting and finance activities of the company.


  • – Manage all aspects of accounting, billing, financial statements, general ledger, cost accounting, payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, budgeting, tax compliance, inventory accounting, cost accounting, revenue recognition, and various special analyses
  • – Design, manage, and maintain all accounting and financial systems, including general ledger, purchasing, billing, fixed assets, and financial integration with quoting and CRM applications
  • – Monitor and ensure accuracy and data integrity across all accounting and financial systems
  • – Coordinate with sales and operations staff to ensure timely and accurate billing for all services and apply appropriate revenue recognition standards
  • – Maintain and document accounting policies, procedures, and operations
  • – Perform all monthly and annual closing procedures
  • – Manage payments of all accounts; comfortable managing flow of payables
  • – Prepare monthly and quarterly/annual financial reports
  • – Manage annual budgets and forecasts
  • – Advise on financial analyses and decision-making regarding pricing, costs, capital investments, benchmarks, and other matters with management and chief financial officer
  • – Organize and provide information in support of annual external audit and tax activities
  • – Define, benchmark, and implement operational best practices
  • – Manage all state and local tax reporting requirements
  • – Additional duties as needed

Job Requirements and Qualifications:

  • – Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or business administration with an emphasis in Accounting or a related field
  • – Ideal candidate has 10+ years of experience
  • – Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license is required
  • – Experience working with and implementing Microsoft Dynamics GP, Oracle BRM, ADP, and Connectwise CRM is preferred
  • – Experience in managed IT services or telecommunications is preferred
  • – Previous experience as a supervisor or manager
  • – Excellent computer skills; experience with accounting, billing, and CRM software, MS Office, MS Access, SQL, and other systems knowledge
  • – Exceptional knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, cost accounting and cost control principles, and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • – Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • – Advanced knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting best practices, laws, standards, and state/national regulations
  • – Analytical ability to develop and implement improvements or recommendations
  • – Attention to detail
  • – Able to work well with senior executives and team, as well as mentor/lead other team members
