What is World Instructor Training School (WITS)?

  • WITS provides a compact training course of twenty-four hours of core knowledge and hands-on training, unlike other "crash" courses which offer one day of lecturing and no hands-on experience.
  • The core knowledge section examines exercise physiology, nutrition, biomechanics, and practical application in a generalized, easy-to-follow design.
  • Two different practical sessions available: aerobics instructor and personal trainer.
  • The aerobics instructor course includes all aspects of creating music and completing routines for safely exercising any group of participants.
  • The personal trainer course includes all aspects of program design and implementation for a variety of individuals and situations.

  • It demonstrates your proven ability to teach, lead, design, and implement a safe and effective fitness program for various individuals.

    The World Instuctor Training School is a nationally recognized certifying body for aerobics instructors and personal trainers. WITS is unique to the other certifying agents because it requires a twenty-four hour core knowledge and practical section for certification eligibility. The others require no training at all.

    Upon completion of either course, each student will complete a practical exam. Upon completion of the practical, a critique will be done based on each student's ability to teach. Each student will also be given a final written exam. When successful, the student will achieve a national basic level one certification. (The A.C.E., A.F.A.A., etc. exams are given separately by the international organizations and have no bearing on the WITS exam and results.)
