These
side-by-side photos reveal an electrical service panel which has been
nicely enclosed with paneling and door. This particular situation is
iffy. Full access to the panel for service and alterations is not
available. Worse have been found.
One home-owner finished his basement off, enclosing the electrical service panel. But the screws that held the cover on could not be acessed, due to trim boards and drywall. In yet another situation, a proud condo owner challenged me to find the panel. I did. It was hidden behind a large beer mirror behind the basement bar. It was impossible to get to, as the mirror would not swing fully open. The worst part of that particular inspection: the panel was a Federal Pacific Electric panel.
