Configuring Netscape Mail 4.0 (PC)

Follow the instructions below to configure your email.  If you need assistance, please call Customer Service at 888.64.ISERV or email info@iserv.net.
  • Double-click the 'Netscape Communicator' icon (on your desktop)
  • From the 'Edit' menu, Select 'Preferences'
  • Select 'Mail & Newsgroups' (the menu tree located on the left of the screen)
  • Select 'Identity'
  • In the 'Your name' field, Enter your name (format "John Doe")
  • In the 'E-mail address' field, Enter your case-sensitive Iserv email address (format "username@iserv.net")
  • Select 'Mail Servers'
  • In the 'Incoming Mail Server' field, Enter "mail.iserv.net"
    • Remove any additional info in this field
  • In the 'Outgoing mail server' section:
    • In the 'Outgoing mail (SMTP) server' field, Enter "mail.iserv.net"
    • In the 'Outgoing mail server user name' field, Enter your Iserv username (format "username", not "username@iserv.net")
  • Click 'Add'
  • Go to the 'General' tab:
    • In the 'Server Name' field, Enter "mail.iserv.net"
    • In the 'Server Type' field, Select 'POP3'
    • In the 'User Name' field, Enter the username (all in lower case, format "username", not "username@iserv.net")
    • If desired, check the 'Remember Password' option
  • Go to the 'POP' tab, Verify that 'Leave messages on server' is not checked
    • Click 'OK'
  • Click 'OK' on the 'Preferences' screen to save your settings
  • Click 'Get Messages' to check your email
